About Me

Hi! I’m Brian Kao. I am a climate scientist specializing in extreme weather and computational modeling. I recently graduated with honors from Brown University (ScB Geophysics & Climate Physics), where my research explored the intersections of tropical cyclones, climate modeling, and machine learning. Beyond research, I have a background in geographic information systems (GIS) and language tutoring. I am fluent in English and Chinese, with a working knowledge of Spanish and German.
With professional experience spanning the US, Taiwan, and Germany, I am now heading to Uppsala University in Sweden to pursue an MSc in Physics – Meteorology and Climate Physics.
When I’m not running models, you can find me traveling solo, cycling, or photographing on hikes. Let’s connect on LinkedIn or by email at !
